You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise (to the Bahamas)!

It's -15 here in Chicago, today.  Literally…NEGATIVE FIFTEEN!  The windchill is - eleventy billion.  I may die.  So what does one do when it's subzero; plan a weekend vacation to the beach!  Some girlfriends and I found a great deal on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas.  Here are my staples for tropical locale packing:

The maxi dress.  You can't go wrong with a flowy maxi dress in a bright color.  I'm in love with this Collection by Korto Dress with Braid Detail ($199.86 at QVC).  If you are a Project Runway fan, you saw Korto take the QVC challenge with this dress.  Need some sparkle?  This gorgeous dress is adorned with stunning sequins at the waist.  Braided straps add an elegant look that's perfect for a night out.  Dress down with a jean jacket and wear to brunch with the girls.

The cover-up.  A great cover-up is a must have, in my opinion.  Since I like to "shine bright like a diamond" at all times, I'm a huge fan of this Sequin Cover Up ($148 at Victoria's Secret).  This cover-up sets the gold standard for seaside glam.

A simple white dress.  So many options to choose from here; the simple white dress can be used as a cover-up for lunch on the beach to a dinner dress adorned with a statement necklace.  This classic boat neck jersey dress by T by Alexander Wang is perfect ($89 at Shopbop).  The asymmetrical hem and patch bust pocket gives some personality to this sheer style.

An amazing flat sandal.  Shocker, a metallic is my neutral.  I love the crisscross straps on this Bernardo "Peony" Sandal in metallic silver ($125.95 at Nordstrom).

Metallics not your style?  Try this cork style Bernardo "Merit" Thong Sandal that is sure to go with everything ($124.95 at Nordstrom).

Finally, the obvious, a fantastic swimsuit.  I prefer the bandeau styles to avoid unwanted tan lines, like this Jeweled Push-up Bandeau Top ($33 at Victoria's Secret) paired with a printed bottom, like this floral Cheeky Low-Rise Bottom ($16 at Victoria's Secret).

Don't forget your sunscreen!!!  None of the above will look good on alligator skin!!

xoxo
